Circle Scrubbie - Video

A while back, I knitted up some washcloths & circle scrubbies for a friend of mine and she said she would like to learn how to make them.  We live about 10 hours apart, so I came up with an idea to teach her, make a video!!!  So here it is!!

Below the video's are the pattern, and links to learn other knitting techniques.  :D

Swiffie Re-usable Pads!!

Don't want to "get in trouble" for using the real name! LOL

I found the following patterns online & decided to try them:

Knit Pattern Link:

My finished Pad:
Scrub side:

Top Side:

I added extra stitches to mine because it looked too small.  OOPS! LOL  It will shrink some in the wash & should be fine!

Crochet Pattern Link:

My Finished Pad:

I ran out of the yarn color I was using, so the flap is a different color, but it is ok, The floor doesn't mind! LOL

I like the way they both work!  They have good texture for scrubbing if there's a sticky spot.  I will be making more!  They work up really fast.  :)

A GREAT article on Christian Education!!

I found this GREAT article on a blog I stumbled upon.

Before I give the link, I want to say a few things.  :)

First of all, this is written to CHRISTIANS, if you are not a Christian, it does not apply to you! :)

There are a lot of links to articles to read.  I am a VERY SLOW reader and I read EVERY SINGLE article.  It took me less than an hour.  Your children and their education and future are definitely worth it!

Lest you think some of the articles and examples are far out, or only extreme cases, think again!  My husband is a public high school teacher.  I can tell you story after story that would say otherwise, and that's just experiences from ONE teacher at ONE school.   :)

Get out your KJV Bible & look at the verses they give. Pray for an open mind and begin to go through the articles.  This is SERIOUS people of God!!  We cannot afford to keep ignoring what is going on and think our kids are ok!! I've seen too many casualties to think otherwise!!   I am sharing this out of compassion and love for my fellow Christian families.  Please, take the time to read these articles if you are Christian and have children in the Public School System, or know of somebody that is/does!!

My husband and I pulled our only son out of 1st grade and homeschooled from then till graduation.  We homeschooled our only daughter all the way through.  ...  Was it easy? not always.  Was it fun? not always.  Was it trying? not always.  Was it satisfying? not always.  Was it worth it?  ALWAYS!!!!!!  I praise God He put "radical" people in my path to "shake me up" a little & make me think! :)  I praise God that my 2 children are serving our Lord and not lost to the world!

Ok before this is so long you don't want to take the time to read the articles, here's the link to the blog with the article links:

And for my disclaimer:  I did not look at each site entirely, select links, etc. I just read the article.  I do not 100% agree with every word in every article, but I will say that I do agree with most of their points. :)

Big FAT Goose-Egg!!!!

(In other words ... ZERO, or NOTHING!!) .... That's what came of my shopping at the Mall for clothes yesterday!!! My handsome hubby gave me a wad of cash & let me at it! LOL I was in search of some leggings & stuff like that & he gave me extra in case I found any clothes I liked. Well I looked in 3 stores, and came back with NOTHING!!! So, I have to order some of it online because no matter where I look in stores I just can't find what I'm looking for (or the price is just WAY too high for what you get). Later, at the Great Wally World Adventure Store, I ended up buying some patterns & material & I will be sportin' some new shirts & skirts later this week! Maybe I'll post pictures of the finished products. :)

The Rest of the Story! LOL

Our Trip back “home” was 11 days long, only 2 of the days were spent doing “Amish things” lol So now on to the rest of our vacation!! :D We had intended to go to Hershey, Pennsylvania & visit Hershey Park & all that, but we simply ran out of time! BUMMER! But, we will make extra time for that next time we go to Lancaster, I HOPE anyway!

SOOOO….. Overnight Stop #2 was my dh’s mom’s house in Temperance, MI. We were there 3 nights, the first time.

Then on to Overnight Stop #3: my younger Sisters house in Grand Blanc, MI. We were there 2 nights.

Back to dh’s mom’s house for 2 more nights.

Overnight Stop #4 was my dh’s granny in Jefferson City, Tennessee! We were there 2 nights.

In between our overnight folkies, we had many other visits to fit in and we missed a LOT of people. A Family Reunion, or wedding for each side of the family would be PERFECT! LOL That way you get to see everyone at once instead of wearing yourself out going place to place. We put almost 3,000 miles on our truck in just 11 days, a LOT of driving around!! (it’s 1,200 round trip straight there & back) It was REALLY good to be home and out of the truck! It’s ALWAYS so good to see everyone, but ALWAYS soooooooo good to come back home!!

A couple of fun things we did while we were at my sisters:

We went to Great Lakes Crossing (HUGE mall). They have a place inside the mall for the children it’s called “Jeepers” and it has FUN stuff like a roller coaster! Bumper cars! Himalaya (smaller version & it goes backward too!) and other smaller kiddie rides, and games to play. You pay for the kids & 1 adult gets to ride with a paying child! FUN FUN FUN!! LOL

Same mall had the Rain Forest CafĂ© restaurant & we ate supper there. Jerry’s birthday was a couple weeks away so we had them bring out the volcano cake & sing “Happy Birthday” for him! They had him stand up on his chair while they sang & it was just hysterical!! I wish I had video’d it, but I took a couple pictures instead. BUMMER!! LOL And of course, we got matching tee-shirts from there! LOL … On the way home (back to my sister’s house) from the mall a Money Storm happened in our truck!! Uncle Jerry kept throwing Dollar Bills to the back for my nieces! They had a blast! It was for them to start their own Lemonade stand. My sister told them they (my nieces) had to come up with ½ and they (my sister & her dh) would pay ½ and they kept spending all their money and not saving! LOL So Uncle Jerry told them this was for their business. J

My oldest niece, Avery-7, wanted to learn how to knit, so I taught her. She learned so quickly! All she wanted to do was knit! LOL Ella-5 didn’t have the patience but had fun playing with the yarn! LOL Wonder how Avery is doing with her little blue square! J

We had a GREAT time hanging out with my sister & her hubby & my 2 nieces! 2 days really isn’t enough!

The morning we were leaving to go back to dh’s mom’s house in Temperance, my step dad came over to see us for a while. It was good seeing him again because it has been over 5 years since seeing him. He brought me the bestest surprise!!! My mom’s Bible! (she passed away in 1998) I had asked him for it several years ago when he was trying to divide stuff out & get rid of some of her stuff, but he wasn’t ready to part with it yet and then he brought it to me out of the blue! Woo Hoo! I was so excited & all choked up at the same time. It’s so special to me to have her Bible that she read and marked and hi-lited and made notes. It was fun to see her cute little bookmarks & stuff & I still have it all in there where she left it. J I’d MUCH rather have my mom still alive, though. Since that’s not the case, it is comforting and special to have her Bible.

The day after we went back to Jerry’s moms, we went to Cedar Point. It’s an amusement park in Sandusky Ohio, that is actually world famous for it’s roller coasters! It was FUN FUN FUN!!! Some of them I don’t like! WAY WAY WAY too fast and jerky! One of them, called the Raptor, was so crazy I came off and almost fell over because I was so dis-oriented I didn’t know which way was up! LOL Disney will be TAME compared to those rides! LOL

Here’s a little montage of pics from our trip!

Summer Vacation: 1st stop: Amish Country!!

I can't believe it has been 1 month since I have updated on my blog! I just have not been very motivated to blog still. But I had an INCREDIBLE 11 day vacation WooHoo & thought I'd write about it here!! Family Road Trip This is a long post, so you might want to grab a cup of coffee!! LOL

Our first stop was a dream come true for me!! We went to Lancaster, Pennsylvania: Amish Country!!! The oldest & original Amish settlement in the USA. We stayed for 2 nights at a very nice Bed & Breakfast called LoveLace Manor I would highly recommend anyone staying there if they ever go to Lancaster. I want to go there again myself! Eyebrow The Owners, Michael and Lark were very friendly & welcoming and they make GREAT breakfasts! While we were there we did a few things that were the highlight of the trip, for me!! We went on a horse & buggy ride the first night, then to a restaurant that serves up Amish foods & we ate at a big table with about 3 or 4 other couples that we didn't know, it's called a Farm Feast. They bring out platters of food and everyone takes some & passes the platter around so everyone gets some. It was about 4 courses. Everything was DELICIOUS!!!! We tried the Shoo-Fly Pie & it was YUM YUM YUM!!! That was fun!!

The next day, Tuesday, we had a full schedule so Jerry & I got up at 7am & got in our running & exercise & showers, Chris slept in till breakfast! LOL We had to be ready for breakfast at 9am. It was YUMMY! The table setting was like a very nice restaurant & they served the food and talked to us & answered any questions about the area or Amish if we had any, & made sure our coffee or juice was constantly full. It was really nice!! ... Ok, on to the rest of the day!

First stop: We went to a different horse & buggy ride, where it was just the driver, Jerry & me. The other one was a huge carriage with about 10 other people & it wasn't what we were expecting, so we did a different one & liked it a lot! Reuben was the driver & he was so nice and answered our questions & just talked along the way & pointed out things about the Amish & their lifestyle. I'll never forget his kind, gentle attitude. After the ride we wanted to get a picture of the horse & buggy we rode in, but that didn't work out, so we got a pic of us with a different horse at an Amish Health Food Store down the road. :D Here we are:

We had a show in a theatre about the life of an Amish man & a little history of the Amish. Then the next stop was a 2 hour bus tour of the Amish Farms in the area, & there were a couple stops at Amish shops, an Amish Dairy Farm, it was neat & we learned a lot! Then we had a tour of a "mock" Amish house that went with the characters in the show. The lady that ran that tour was a hoot! She had these hard hitting/direct little blurbs about their 8th grade education & all they accomplish with it. It went so well with our family beliefs & home schooling, I loved it!! The other people there were probably thinking she was off her rocker! LOL

Ok now on to the DREAM COME TRUE part for me!!! :D I have read about the Amish and their way of life for a while now & have been fascinated and intrigued by it & when I found out that we could actualy eat dinner with a REAL AMISH FAMILY at their REAL AMISH FARM, I was about jumping out of my skin in excitement!!! The owners of the Bread and Breakfast we stayed at set it up with an Amish family that they are friends with. Tuesday night we drove out to Reuben and Anna Lapp's farmhouse. (different Reuben than the horse & buggy ride) We got a tour of their barn with the cows and it was milking time so we got to see that. I thought they did it by hand, but I didn't know they had 45 cows! LOL I was going to milk one, but they had these cool battery operated things that they put on the udders & it did the milking. Then it goes into a huge cooler after it is strained. We got to drink a glass of fresh raw milk & it was YUMMO!!! :D We walked through their vegetable garden & everything was so IMMACULATE!!!

Then we went into their BEAUTIFUL farm house for supper! We had a silent prayer, then the food started being passed around. It was some fresh food from their garden & it was YUMMY!!! Zuccini Casserole, Baked Corn, Coleslaw, New Potatoes, Chicken, Fresh Bread. Then some ice cream and YUMMY Cake for dessert! I'm probably forgetting something, but it was all sooooooo good!! Conversation was a lot of questions & answers. :D After supper they wanted to see our son juggle & we didn't have any stuff with us in the truck but, one of the other guys had some golf balls, so Chris did a a juggling show with golf balls! LOL But everyone really enjoyed it! Then we went inside with Reuben & Anna after everyone left. Jerry wanted to see their Bible & they were so happy to show us & talk with us & answer even more questions! LOL Their Bible is in German and King James. It was so neat! The one thing I wanted to know was how did they believe they get into Heaven. Reuben said "Only by the blood of Jesus. There's no way I could ever do enough good things to earn my way." I was so relieved to hear that, because of some of the things I had heard about them and works vs. grace. :D I so enjoyed fellowshipping with them, I never wanted the evening to end. They were so kind, generous, humble & were gracious hosts. ... They had a little table set up with some of the things they make & we bought a few things for gifts & souveniers. They make quilts, of course! They make these cute little stuffed dogs out of the scraps from the quilts, and a cool little spice mat that you set a hot pot on and it fills up the room with the smell of cinnamon.

Some of the things I learned about the Amish:
* Their divorce rate is almost ZERO!
* The children go to a 1 room school for 1st through 8th grade, then they train in their vocation.
* By the time they finish 8th grade they will know 3 languages: English, Pennsylvania Dutch, & High German.
* 90+% of their children remain with their Faith
* They vote Republican
* Everything they do is EXCELLENT, they aren't prideful at all, but they do take great care in doing things with EXCELLENCE.
* They do no get into debt, they pay cash for everything, including their homes.
* They do not reject or shun ALL technology, just the things they think could lead to seperation of family. For example, they have indoor plumbing & propane powered refrigerators & stoves.
* Their lifestyle produces peace & contentment

I learned a lot and I really enjoyed learning about their way of life. I could totally see myself living that way. Getting used to sleeping in PITCH BLACK with no sounds in the house would be the hardest thing for me to adjust to. (think about all the noise electronics make & how quiet it is when the electricity goes out!!!) I could live without all the electric conveniences. The results of their lifestyle is simply amazing. It seems like someone would have to give up a lot to "go Amish", but the way I see it, a person would GAIN so much more than they would have to give up. I guess you could say, I was really impacted by this part of our Vacation!

I will post about the rest of our Vacation at another time. :)

Happy Mother's Day!!

I wanted to wish all Mommy's a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Every woman is a momma to someone! We either have birthed children from our bodies, or our hearts. We have spiritual babies. We have fur babies. We all have someone that looks up to us and we love and protect like one of our own.

This is my 10th Mother's Day without my Mom. I am thankful for the 32 years I had with her. We had our share of struggles, but we worked through them all. I miss her. I know I will see her again and be with her for all eternity with Jesus!!

I want to share a poem my daughter wrote for me on Mother's Day a few years ago:

My Mom

You are my Mom
I hold you dear
I feel so safe
When you are near
When you and Dad
Are by my side
I trust the Lord
You'll be my guide
So on this day
I honor you
I thank you Mom
For all you do
And for you Mom
I'll have to say
You are the best
And Happy Mother's Day!.

What has gotten into me?!?

I guess working out is giving me energy? I don't know, but I have been very motivated to get stuff done in the mornings this week! I have been very productive. One secret is to NOT get into personal e-mails and blogs, etc until AFTER my morning routine is done! I might "sneak" a little peek into twitter (like today! he he) for a quick hello, but I don't allow myself to get sucked in, then my day is gone.

Here is my morning routine:

* Make bed
* Take out braid & fix hair
* Come Downstairs & swish & swipe ½ bath
* Drink Mineral Water
* Make Smoothie or Juice
* Start any laundry if needed
* Unload/Reload the dishwasher

** Jerry Leaves for Work **

* Get dinner in the slow cooker (If I'm cooking that night)
* Clean up cooking mess
* Prayer & Bible Study time
* Reboot Laundry
* Check, Google Checkout, and Paypal for Ministry Orders
* Check e-mails
* Cleaning Schedule
* Exercise ... Drink 1 QT water!!!
* Swish & Swipe Master Bathroom
* Shower/Hair/Makeup

** Do anything on To Do List **

My stuff on my today's Cleaning Schedule/To Do List was:
* Mop the Kitchen Floor
* Clean the Master Bathtub
* Take the trash dumpster up from the curb after they pick up the trash
* Search online for waterbeds

NOT on my To Do List today, but did anyway:
* made a screen/filter for the bathtub faucet (it kept getting black metal gunkies and I don't want that in my hair!!!)
* since I had out the screen I put in 2 new screens in the workout/weight room that have needed it since last summer. :) PLUS cleaned the windows inside & out since I had it all open and all. :)

I did all this (except waterbed search) by 2PM Then settled into my computer chair and took care of some e-mails and comments, etc. Searched for some waterbeds till my SuperDuperHubby came home.

Well, I'm going to be reading some more blogs, I'm about to be caught up! Woot!! LOL

My Workout Poem! LOL

Feet of lead
Foggy head
Legs of jello
Lungs that bellow
Braid goes flipping
Sweat starts dripping
Legs are pumping
Music is jumping
Spirit is soaring
Thunder starts roaring

Spring is here!! :)

I was reading my Bible this afternoon when I kept hearing this digging sound outside my living room window. I look out to see a squirrel digging and burying something by the playset out there. lol I quickly got my camera to shoot some video!! He was done digging, but was so cute, I got 2 short videos of him. (well, I guess it could be a she?? don't know so I'll call it a him! he he)

This one he does this cool flippy thing that I've only seen bunnies do! lol

This one has a cute little mourning dove pecking in what used to be a sandbox.
The birds are just singing away out there (as can be heard in the videos)! Some are chasing eachother, yep it's spring! LOL

The grass was freshly mown and all the little birdies came out to nibble, and gather goodies for nest making, they were so cute! I saw a few cardinals, robins, blue jays, sparrows, & mourning doves. Oh and a cat must have been looking for lunch because he jumped the fence and prowled around for a bit before he decided to jump back out & look elsewhere!

Just thought I'd share a little North Carolina Spring with you!

Went to see him on Sunday as planned. He seems to be doing well, a little weak and tired, but that is to be expected: Hello - Quadruple Bypass surgery! I wish we could have stayed longer, but it was a good visit with him. Right before we left, he prayed with us and it was very moving, he was deeply touched & I hope and pray with all my heart that he is a changed man!!

We (dhJerry & I) were glad to see his sisters & Aunt Cheryl & Cousin Josh too. Hope to see more of you guys when we are up in MI this summer!!

We were entertained by Tammy's sons doing headstands at Applebees! he he

Thank you everyone that has been praying! And if you feel lead: Please continue to pray for a complete recovery.

Prayer Request for my Father In Law

We found out late yesterday that my husband's dad had quadruple by-pass surgery  & is in recovery & seems to be doing pretty good.  We live over 600 miles away.  The fastest we can get up to see him is Sunday.   Please pray for his recovery to be  complete!  And for us to have safe travels, it will be a quick trip with a lot of miles to drive.

Oh Heavenly Fudge!!!

I made fudge last night. It is Heavenly!!!! Very rich!!

Originally found on this blog: Passionate Homemaking

Here is the EASY and FAST and GUILT FREE recipe from the Nourishing Gourmet:

The Easiest, Healthiest, Most Scrumptious Fudge Ever

By the way, you can easily substitute with this recipe. Coconut oil works very well, but those less inclined to this oil could also use butter for a more traditional taste. Raw honey works very well ( though I find it almost a bit too sweet, so you may want to reduce the amount a little), and I bet you could use other forms of palm/coconut sugar (like the granulated form). I use a food processor, but I am sure that you could also use a stand or hand mixer. You can also easily double this recipe.
    1/2 cup of virgin coconut oil
    1/2 cup of cocoa powder
    1/2 cup of coconut/palm sugar (the paste like kind)
    dash of sea salt
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1-In a heat resistant, glass measuring cup (pyrex), place the coconut oil. Fill a small saucepan with a few inches of water, and place the glass measuring cup in it. Heat on the stove top until the coconut oil is mostly melted (the coconut oil should be room temperature, not hot. This will protect it’s raw benefits).

2-In a food processor using the regular blade, add the melted coconut oil and the rest of the ingredients and mix until well combined.

3-Place enough plastic wrap or parchment paper in a loaf pan to cover the bottom and sides of the pan. Scrape your fudge “dough” into the loaf pan, and fold the plastic wrap or parchment paper over the top of the fudge. Gently press down, to even out the thickness of the fudge (you want it to be about 1/2 inch thick, it will cover probably about 1/2 of the bottom of your loaf pan). Take out the fudge, carefully wrapped up, and place in the freezer or refrigerator until it has set up. In the freezer it only takes about 20- to 30 minutes.

4-Cut into small squares, and enjoy!

I used Raw Honey and it came out fine.

Enjoy your guiltless fudge!!

Best Pancakes in the World!!!

My favorite pancakes have always been Bisquick or Aldi's brand Baking Mix pancakes. But today I made some that are EVEN BETTER!!!! AND they are HEALTHY!!!

Has anyone ever had Blender Pancakes?? No, you don't COOK them in the blender! LOL You use the blender to make the batter. I had a recipe for a couple years & never tried it because I thought it would be lumpy, since it used whole wheat berries. Then I saw this video & how smooth the batter is:

I used the recipe I have because it is healthier :) But you can use hers. :)

My recipe made with my Vita-Mix Blender:

Combine in Blender:
2 Cups Whole Wheat Berries
2 & 1/4 Cups milk
(I used powdered milk)

Blend for about 1 minute on Variable Speed #10

Then Add 1 Cup more milk
Blend another 45 seconds on Variable Speed #10

Then add:
2 TBS Fresh Ground Flax Seed (ground in coffee grinder very fine)
mixed with 4 TBS Water
2 Tsp Himalayan Crystal salt (or sea salt)
2/3 Cup Olive Oil
2 TBS Raw Honey

Mix till all blended

Add 2 TBS Baking Powder
2 Tsp Vanilla Extract

Mix a few seconds till incorporated.

Pour batter from the blender onto a heated griddle to make your pancakes!!

*** If you don't have a Vita-Mix blender you can still use this recipe!! Cut it in half, but you will need to double the blending time and blend on HIGH.

I always like to make more than I know will be eaten, then freeze them. Then next time I want a quick pancake snack or meal, just pop a few into the toaster oven. :)

I did my pedicure!! I even painted my toenails!!! My feet are thankful! LOL I even rubbed some jojoba oil & lotion on my legs. SOFT!!! :)

Later Gator!! LOL

Well, the alligator feet stay for now, Jerry is taking me to dinner. I'll have to do my feet later tonight!! Woohoo

Barefootin' Time!!

The weather has been nice and warm lately here in Raleigh, NC. Today I decided to keep the socks off and go barefoot!! I noticed how much I neglected my feet over the winter. Boy do my feet need some pampering!! Um, can you say ALLIGATOR! LOL My skin is dry and crackly, and my toenails have been trimmed back to nothing (so they can be more comfy in my shoes!). Yes, I'd say I need to treat my feet to some TLC!! I think I'll fill a plastic tub with some hot sudsy water & get my pedicure stuff ready & get my feets purdy & protect dhJerry's legs and the sheets while I sleep barefoot! lol Yeah, they are THAT bad!! Blushy

Think I'll grab a book & go soak my feet now.

Strange Tan Lines!!

Had I known I would get such a good tan in ONE HOUR at Daytona Beach, I would have rolled up my sleeves! LOL I got a tan on my hands ONLY!!! I looked at them the other day while putting on lotion and realized they are quite tan, with quite white arms! LOL It is REALLY noticible if they are well moisturized (lotion), AND I have on short sleeves. Hopefully it will even out over time! LOL

Happy Wednesday!! :)

I guess I took a blog break!! LOL I have been so busy trying to play catch-up I didn't even get a chance to blog in several days.

We had a GREAT weekend in Florida! 3 Gospel shows for the weekend. 1 in Tarboro, NC and 2 in Florida (Callahan and Lakeland). Many children and adults came forward to receive Jesus!! Woo Hoo!!!!!! It's worth all the driving for that!

My newly found part of the show is the sound lady! he he I have all the music and sound effects for our shows and I hook up my laptop to the Church system and run the sounds for our shows. It is working out GREAT!! Now I'm on a mission to find some more fun sounds to go with different parts of the shows and any jokes, etc. FUN FUN FUN!!! This takes a load off the fellas' minds because they don't have to worry about it, I have it covered! Roll

We had snow in Raleigh while we were in Florida! There's a little bit on the ground still. Mostly patches where the sun doesn't hit.

While we were driving to our last event on Monday, we stopped off in Daytona Beach for lunch and to stretch out a bit. Well, it happens to be Bike Week there! TONS AND TONS of bikers EVERYWHERE!!! It was neat to see "Christian Bikers" They had jackets with Christian Emblems on them. "Riding for the Son" "Christian Motorcycle something", I forget, but it was neat to them see among such scarey characters! LOL

We went into a couple stores looking for some Florida Tee Shirts (since my dhJerry has this obsession with matching! LOL), and it was icky!! One store said "Christian gift and tee-shirts" so we walk in, we are greeted by a shirt that says something about a a**hole, I ask Jerry "What does THAT have to do with Christianity (pointing to offending shirt)??" Did we get a clue and walk away? No, it was a "Christian gift and tee-shirts" store, so we went in. Looking around, it was all obscene language and graphic images! A GIANT towel hanging down with a naked woman on it, I mean total boobage and all, YUCK! so we walk out & Jerry & I turn around to look at the sign again to see WHAT ON EARTH KIND OF CHRISTIAN STORE IS THAT!!!??? Well the sign said "Christiana's gift and tee-shirts" !! Oh my goodness!! LOL I think we were both jet-lagged! LOL

We did have fun riding the ski-lift over the pier on the ocean. None of the pictures of Jerry & I came out very good, but I'll include 1 anyway! LOL & one of the water. Do I look TERRIFIED to you?? I WAS!!!! I don't like heights, I don't like dangling over the ocean with who knows what in there if that cable breaks!!

Notice, we are the ONLY ones on that ride! It was COLD and windy.

I missed a lot of beautiful scenery because I had my nose buried in my laptop on the road. I got behind on my Chronological Bible Reading and wanted to get caught up. I nearly did it!! Only 3 days + today & that's it! (I got REALLY behind, a day here and there & it added up!!) By tomorrow or Friday I will be caught up totally & will stay on track!!! WHEW!!!

FINALLY!! My All Purpose Cleaner!!

I FINALLY had the opportunity to get this made today! It *only* took me 11 tries and it's not perfect, (sorry, I don't know how to edit videos yet and didn't want to bother my son! he he he) but here is the video on how to make your own All Purpose Cleaner and re-usable wipes!!!

(In case the video box doesn't show up: )

As promised, here is the link to Michelle's Blog on how to do the Swish N Swipe to keep your bathroom always company ready! What a GREAT video she did!! She shows her morning routine. She's so cheery & you'll love watching her!! Don't you love those animals on her kitchen cupboards!?

For my swish N swipe, I actually wipe down the tank and the lid, everything but the bottom of the toilet (that gets cleaned on bathroom cleaning day or when it needs it).

Ok, here's the reccipe:

All-Purpose Glass, Counter and Bathroom Cleaner:

2 cup rubbing alcohol
1 cup ammonia
1 tsp dish washing liquid (we use Dawn)
10 cups of warm water

Combine ingredients in a large gallon jug. Decant some into a spray bottle. Label the bottle as "All-Purpose" cleaner. Spray mixture on windows, countertops, stoves, mirrors, etc., and wipe away.

(This recipe taken from is an excellent site for safe make your own cleaners, and homemaking tips.

You want to make sure you label your containers to say "All Purpose Cleaner" so everyone knows it is a cleaner. :) Also, be careful around kids, it's ammonia and rubbing alcohol!

This cleaner does not streak, and works EXCELLENT!!! It also doubles as a bug killer! Which I LOVE!! Because I do NOT like ANY kind of bug!!!

Oh Dear!!!

Well, that should be Deer! We saw 38 Deer on the side of Interstate 95 travelling from Hilliard, FL to St. George SC on Sunday night!! We saw 6 on that same stretch on Saturday night. I'm sure there were WAY more, but my eyes were closed and dhJerry couldn't drive and spot them as well as I could. :-)

We had 2 Gospel Shows this weekend that took us on the road! 1st one was in Kinston, NC on Saturday night. We left from there & travelled about 1/2 way to our next destination, we stayed in St. George, SC. Sunday night we had a show in Hilliard, FL. Left from there & went back to St. George overnight. Back home Monday. The shows went GREAT!!! Many children came forward to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior!! Praise God!!

I think I have jetlag. Can you get jetlag from a car!? LOL It was a lot of driving for Jerry, but it wore me out! LOL Plus add the fact that I don't sleep in a hotel very well.

Well, time to go shopping, I'm about to get left behind! That's my quick update!
Hope to get to that video tomorrow!!! :-D

Monkey Wrench

I like tools, but not this one!! Monkey Wrenches thrown into my plans are not good for me! LOL

I had my morning all planned out in my head. Light Bulb Maybe that was my first mistake! But I woke up BEFORE 7am with my mind IMMEDIATELY engaged! This does not happen with me! LOL

I had these plans for my video on making your own all purpose cleaner and re-usable cleaning wipes. Ideas were filling my head so I got up & got busy with my morning stuff & finished my routine before my normal starting time! LOL

BUT!!! That crazy monkey threw TWO of his wrenches into my day!!!

Wrench #1: Our water has icky black junk coming out of the faucets. I thought it smelled funny when I washed my hands this morning. Then I went to rinse out the bathtub to get ready to do my hair, and YUCK!! So I checked other faucets & Yep, black junk. Sickened

Well, anyway, I haven't gotten in the shower yet and I am NOT going on camera for the world to see when I haven't gotten myself presentable! Hi-ya!

Wrench #2: My computer is acting up and I need to get my anti-virus running correctly. Smashy

Sooooooo... I may not be able to get that video done until after the weekend. Our weekend is too fullJuggling AND I prefer to make a video when dhJerry is at work during the day.

Hope everyone has a BLESSED weekend!!! And may you not have any monkeys visit you with wrenches! Monkey Wave

Day at the Park! Pictures!!!

I am FINALLY getting this up!!

We had a GREAT time at the park on Sunday! My granddaughters LOVE being there & their favorite thing to do seems to be the baby swings! Look at their smiles on them! LOL

Afterwards, we went to eat at El Dorado & they tried on some of the sombreros. :)

Video on the swings:
